Gerrit

The Gerrit Community Managers, in an effort to try and reduce spam across all Gerrit platforms, are proposing to require being part of repo-discuss in order to be able to post on Gerrit-related forums. This will enable us to ban people producing spam.

This will mainly comprise of 2 parts:

• Require repo-discuss membership to post on issues.gerritcodereview.com.

  This is actionable now and will hopefully bring some immediate benefits.

• Require repo-discuss membership in order to comment on issues in gerrit-review.googlesource.com.

  This will require a new Gerrit feature in order to restrict posting comments based on permissions.

Both forums will also need to feature a banner to make it clear that membership of repo-discuss is required to post on them.
